The 76ers Are Fighting The Injury BugšŸ›

Who is Injured?šŸ¤•: The 76ers are caught by the injury bug early in the season, with James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, and Joel Embiid all being out for time. While Tobias Harris is back in the lineup, the other three are still out. James Harden has been out the longest with a foot tendon strain and looks to be returning by December. While our big three has been injured, this time has been good for out bench, being able to get a lot of playing time. With both of our staring guards being out, Shake Milton and De'Anthony Melton have had to step up in big ways and they have. SHAKE MILTONšŸ§‚: With the absence of both, we have seen the versatile play from both guards in every aspect of the game. With Shake, we have seen him turn into a great scorer, passer, and rebounder. In his most recent game, he got his very first double-double, and was one rebound away from a triple-double. During this time span, Shake has been averaging, 22 Points, 7 Rebounds, and 7 assists, he stepping up more than we could have imagined. De'Anthony Melton: With De'Anthony Melton having to step up in Tyrese Maxey's absence, he has made the most of it. Melton is becoming an elite defender and an elite scorer at the same time. Over the past 4 games, Melton is shooting 42% from three while averaging 19 Points, 4.3 assists, and 5 rebounds. This great stat line is backed up by amazing defense on the other side of the ball. Melton is 2nd in the league in steals per game and is also 2nd in deflections per game. Having this defense is amazing, especially when your starters come back to the court. PAUL REEDšŸ€: While Paul Reed might not be a name that most NBA fans know, Reed is establishing himself as a great backup to Joel Embiid after getting all of these starting minutes. He is one of the most unique players in the league because he might not have the best stat line, but his impact on the game is huge. His aggressive playstyle, rebounding, and defense are a huge part of the reason why he has been so good over the past 5 games. GEORGES NIANGšŸš: Georges Niang, while still coming off the bench, has been one of the most important players over the past 5 games. With his elite three-point shooting and elite trash-talking, he is a player everyone can get behind. In the past 5 games, he is shooting 46% from three, adding a huge weapon to our offense. Along with the shooting, his trash-talking is second to none, being one of the best in the league. While our starters have been out, our bench has stepped up to another level, giving them some really good minutes to get ready for the postseason. Hopefully out starters will be back soon and the 76ers will be better than ever.
