Sixers Upcoming Matchups: Can They Start a Streak?

The Philadelphia 76ers have been on a roll this season, and coming off of the All-Star break, they were presented with the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA. However, in their next eight matchups or so, the Sixers have a great opportunity to generate a win streak. Of these eight games, only two teams are likely to give the Sixers a real challenge: the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The other six matchups are against the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, and the Charlotte Hornets. While these teams are not currently inside playoff positioning, they still have the potential to upset the Sixers. Fortunately, the Sixers have had a great season up to this point, and have the ability to win these games. This was evidenced by their recent victory over the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks, which ended the Bucks' 16-game winning streak. If the Sixers can continue to play with the same intensity and focus that they showed in that game, they have a good chance of winning their upcoming matchups. Realistically, it's reasonable to expect the Sixers to come away with six wins out of their next eight games. However, if Joel Embiid, James Harden, and the rest of the team continue to put forth their best performances, there's no reason why they can't win all eight. The Sixers' potential is simply too great to ignore. The Sixers have a great opportunity to start up a streak in their next set of games. While there are a couple of tough matchups on the horizon, the majority of their opponents are struggling teams that the Sixers should be able to handle. If the top players continue to play at a high level, and the supporting cast steps up when needed, the Sixers could be on their way to an impressive run of victories.
